To play devil's advocate MI5 would want to maintain social cohesion during the cold war era so not letting Paul's death become news would ensure that. I do think it's unlikely like you said

I think Lennon's death was just an unfortunate situation carried out by a genuine psychopath as it was done well after Beatlemania and even their solo careers had settled down too at that time.

MI5 would have been involved because everything about the 60s was about the destruction of Western morals and ethics. It it well documented that the Beatles & Stones, at the very least, were either products of, or hijacked by, The Tavistock Institute.

I don't believe the Paul McCartney 'switcheroo' personally. They could have just groomed another band if he'd died.

Never heard of that. I am a massive fan of The Beatles. I think they're music is great. Wouldn't be surprised at that being the case the 60s is when the cultural rot we're dealing with today started.
